Dhamma Vipula (Dhamma Profound), founded in 2005, is situated amidst 3 acres of forest land. It is the highest point on Parsik Hill, New Mumbai. Its location enables fast access to the center for people living a busy life in a metropolitan city. At the same time, its unpolluted & clean hilly surroundings offer a serene & peaceful atmosphere conducive to meditation. Center is a two-storied spacious building accommodating approx. 100+ students. The Center is equipped with self-contained air-conditioned residential rooms, a dining hall, a fully air-conditioned meditation hall, and a 100+ cell Pagoda for individual meditation. The elevator is available for use by the elderly, pregnant, and students with health issues.
In addition to the 10-day meditation area, the center has a separate wing where regular short courses are conducted for old students and has a dedicated area for one-day courses which are Center has also held on every Sunday for old students.
Construction of the center began in 2005. To date (2015), Phase I of the construction, involving the following projects, is complete:
- The dining hall, kitchen, fully air-conditioned dhamma hall, and male & female residences accommodate approximately 100 students for a 10-day course.
- The dining hall, kitchen, air-conditioned dhamma hall, and male & female residences accommodate approx 30 students for short courses.
- Air-conditioned dhamma hall for 1-day course accommodating approx 50 students.
Phase II of the construction is currently under progress, which includes the following projects:
- Construction of Pagoda with 130 individual meditation cells.
- Landscaping and developing the gardens around walking areas for the students.
- Re-building the boundary wall.
How to Reach
The Center is located at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai and is well connected by harbor, western & central railway lines as well as by road. It is an easy commute for out-of-station students by Mumbai-Pune Express-way.
